Why a window and not a shop

There are two honest ways to sell someone a box of freeze pops. You can hold the stock yourself, or you can point at somebody who already does and be straight about the arrangement. This is the second one.

Tribeca Curations is a bulk snack and nostalgia-candy retailer in New York. Their catalogue is genuinely deep — 1,208 items as of the last refresh — but a raw catalogue of that size is a hard thing to shop. Things worth finding get buried under things that aren't. So MBSGG SNAX is the front window: the same products, laid out so the 1,208 feels like 14 aisles instead of one enormous list.

When you buy something after clicking through from here, they pay me a commission on it. That is the whole business model, and it's why the notice sits at the top of every page rather than in small print at the bottom. Your price is the same either way — the commission comes out of their margin, not your total.

What's actually in here

Mostly things that come by the case. Fruit chews in the 240-count bag. Honey buns by the two dozen. Freeze pops longer than your forearm. Gumball tubs, hard candy by the pound, snack cakes by the tray. It's stock built for a party, an office kitchen, a church hall, a classroom party, a Halloween bowl that doesn't run out at seven o'clock — the sizes you'd have to buy three of at a supermarket.

There's also a fair amount that isn't candy at all: pantry goods, kitchenware, a few drinks. If it's in the feed, it's in the window.

About prices on this page
